Los rayos solares caen sobre el panel fotovoltaico, aportando energía a los electrones, los cuales salen del panel en forma de CD (corriente directa o continua). La CD se transforma en CA (corriente alterna) a través de un 'inversor'. La CA puede usarse directamente en la propia vivienda o enviarse a la red eléctrica.
Solar rays hit photovoltaic panels energizing electrons which travel out of the panel as DC (direct current) power. The DC power is converted to AC (alternating current) through an "inverter." The AC power can then be used directly in the home or sent to the electrical grid.
